Since 2007 MET Norway and the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation have provided the YR weather forecasting service, with both regional and global forecasts. In addition to physical weather models, models using AI/machine learning will soon be introduced as well. The weather service also includes weather warnings for Norway, produced and classified in accordance with the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) standard since 2018. Issued from MET Norway, weather warnings cover challenging, serious and extreme weather events.
